WALT : Start procedure with an action word.

A simple circuit

Introduction

Today I will be teaching you how to make a simple circuit. It is quite simple and easy to put together. Lets get started.

Materials :
  • A battery
  • Some wires
  • A light bulb
  • A light bulb holder
  • Switch or button

Procedure
  • Screw the bulb into the bulb holder.
  • Attach one end of a wire to the “plus” terminal of the battery.
  • Attach the other end of the wire to one terminal of the bulb.
  • Get the switch and attach a wire from the other terminal of the bulb to one terminal of the switch.
  • Attach the other terminal of the switch to the “minus” terminal of the battery.
  • Turn the switch on and off. If the bulb lights up you did it right! If the bulb does not work… you did it wrong.

What I learnt about cogs.

Yesterday we learnt how to make a cog and use more than one cog together. We also spun one of them to move the other one. Mr. Ramkolowan taught us how to make the cogs and how to make all of them move. It was fun because we had to cut the cardboard into a circular shape. Then we drew the teeth and cut it out. Next we had to stick our pencil into it to make it spin. It was so cool when we played with it at the end. Nearly our whole class played together with every ones cogs. Ifa and I had the second smallest cogs.

On Monday we made all sizes and shapes of cardboard cogs.  I had to make a big cog. My helper was Etai but he didn't even help me much, so I did all the hard work. First we had to cut the cardboard into a circle. Then we

had to make the teeth of the cogs.

After that I cut the shape of the teeth myself. When that was finished I attached my cog to Melissa's cog. It worked perfectly. When I spun my cog, Melissa's cog would turn too. The teeth made the cogs turn. I was happy that I finished.
